Watsu is a form of aquatic bodywork that combines elements of Zen Shiatsu, massage, joint mobilization, and stretching, all while the client is being continuously supported and floated in body temperature water. Tilak first experienced Watsu at its birthplace at Harbin Hot Springs in northern California, and was deeply impressed by its potential to dramatically release physical, emotional, mental, and energetic holding patterns in recipients. He then underwent the rigorous and lengthy training process to become a Registered Watsu Practitioner, studying primarily under the expert guidance of Theri Thomas, one of the most knowledgeable, skilled, and credentialed teachers in the world.
In 2013, Tilak built Mountain Lotus Watsu, a beautiful indoor salt-water Watsu pool in Afton, Virginia. Clients come from many surrounding areas to experience this unique and powerful modality.
